Figurative

The human figure can take many forms and be expressed in a myriad of styles. Schery uses both abstract and representational ways to depict this artwork,

The Worry Doll Series is the first part of this collection. Schery began these vivid, colorful paintings in 2001, inspired by receiving a gift of actual tiny, cloth covered worry dolls. The folk custom originated in the Mayan communities of Central America. The colorful dolls are used to help people ease their worries and fears by placing one for each worry beneath your pillow at night and letting the doll absorb your cares or concerns.

The second part of this collection is a series of abstract or representational figures, exploring the human experience.
