SCHERY MARKEE SULLIVAN COLLECTIONS
MOTHER AND CHILD SERIES Over 20 paintings have been sold from this evocative depiction of the most profound human bond. In November 1999, the Nassau County Museum of Art Bookstore sold "Embrace", a vivid, dramatic example of this series. The signature piece from this collection, "Keeper", was the basis of "Call to Arms", a one woman show given by Long Island Picture Frame and Gallery.
CIRCLE MASK SERIES This collage series involves the layering of masks and their multidimensional meaning. Included in this collage series are: "In Another House", "Queen of Hearts", and "In This House Divided". A central work from this series, "Discarding the Skin of Dreams" was on display at the Islip Museum in 1997.
INSTINCT SERIES The primitive nature of man and beast is explored and depicted using a spontaneous, yet simple, earthy quality. Examples of this series are "Shy Beast", "Double Dance", "Night Falls", and "Nocturne". A show based on this grouping was given by Altamira Gallery of Islip in 1998.
Other series include "Blue Horse/Blue Moon", "Ringmaster", "Man/Woman", "American Landscape", and "Beat the Drum".

PLEASE NOTE: This website is arranged by style of painting. We have found that people don't always know what they want in a piece of original artwork, but they tend to be able to define what kind of painting appeals to them, whether it be abstract splashes of color, soothing scenery, pictures of people etc.

Among all the different treatments of similar subject material done by Schery (e.g. mother and child pieces) there will probably be one particular work in each grouping that is especially appealing to the viewer and seeker of fine art.

We encourage you to contact us at art@markeesullivan.com to obtain information about the availability of various works.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does one obtain an original piece of Markee Sullivan fine art?

Artwork is available in several categories including original pieces, privately commissioned. In this case the artist will work with individual clients, client couples or corporate agents to select the subject, color palette, size and tone of the work. The artist will make subtle adjustments as requested, focused on the goal of delivering a beautiful one-of-a-kind painting or group of paintings to the full satisfaction of the recipient.

What is a Markee Sullivan limited edition giclée print? The French word "giclée" (pronounced zhee-klay) means a spray or spurt of liquid. Giclee images are incredibly detailed prints generated from high resolution digital scans of original artwork. Giclées are printed with archival quality inks onto canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. Giclée prints can be found in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, with five-figure pricetags. (See more on giclées) Schery's limited edition giclee prints are customarily released in groups of less than 100. Groups including two "artist proofs" (first printings). Each giclée prints is sold with a Certificate of Authenticity, as is the case with original pieces.
How about open edition artwork? Though not as limited in quantity, open edition artwork is printed on beautiful paper with excellent color quality. Please contact us with any questions you may have on options or price ranges.
